ABOUT US.

Our story doesn’t start like the typical “baking has been in our family since the 40’s and our chocolate chip cookie recipe was handed down from our great great grandma.”

Growing up we got Carvel ice cream cake on our birthdays and grocery store pie on Thanksgiving. Little did we know we would not be stuck eating over-iced cake or burnt pie for holidays to come.

We started baking about fifteen years ago. Christy was attending college at the University of Maryland and would sometimes come home for a home cooked meal, laundry, or to be in a space large enough to walk around in (shoutout to Centreville Hall). We spent this time catching up on life, shopping for clothes we would later steal out of each other’s closets, and spending too much money on crafts. One of these days we decided to make a cake after walking down the baking aisle in Michaels. We bought all the supplies and set out to make the most delicious and beautiful cake like the ones we saw on Pinterest. We thought, “How hard could it be?”

Fast forward ten years and our afternoon activity became our part time job. We had our fair share of dropped cakes, cracked fondant, and burnt cookies, but that just meant more time we would spend laughing and doing something we both have come to love.
